Recently installed an additional 128 MBytes of SDRAM on one of my
systems. System now has 256 MBytes total. Upon rebooting the system
I noticed the RAM memory check was performed three (3) times. No
indication of a failure; just goes through the RAM memory check three
times and then continues on without any problem. It's consistent as
on subsequent start-ups, it performs the check three times. Guess I
never noticed it before, but with the 256 MBytes this check takes a
little longer. The OS is WIN98 SE.
I have another system with Win98 SE with 64 MBytes and upon start-up I
observe it does not perform the RAM memory check three times - only
once.
Is there some bit that needs to be set/cleared to eliminate the other
system from performing it three (3) times upon start-up?
Thanks in advance,
Rob E.
