My name is Randall Stone and I'm brand new to the list. I'll probably do a
lot of learking while trying to learn. Sometimes I may, just by dumb luck,
have the right answer to fix a problem. Today is not that day. I have a
problem and I may just be overlooking something simple but I can't find it.
On post I'm getting the following:
"Cannot find a device that may be needed to run Windows or a windows
application. The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device
file, but the device no longer exists. If you deleted this file on purpose,
try uninstalling the associated application using it's uninstall or setup
program. If you still want to use the application associated with this
device file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file.
C:\PROGRA~1\CARBON~\ccw.vxd press any key to continue"...... then it loads
a little slow but works fine. I don't know of anything I may have deleted
by accident but there is always that chance. I have looked real hard but I
can't find that path on my drive anywhere. The only hardware that I have
changed out was a saner and that was over a month ago. I deleted some temp
files a couple of days ago and shortly afterward I started getting the
message. Help if you can.
How's that for breaking the ice?
Thanks,
Randall Stone

p.s. If I have another device...I'll use it
