Justin asks about modern day HG's. Some years ago, a video caught my eye in
the back of our local rent a flick store. The cover was of this really trim
guy in a loincloth, who went to live with a group of hunter gatherers
somewhere deep in the Rain Forest. Anyway, I can't remember the name of
either him or the movie. But what I do remember was that he was German, and
decided to leave "civilization". He lived with these people, for a rather
long period of time (maybe 4 years?), and the film chronicled his
transformation both physically, mentally and emotionally. He really began to
look like the tribe. He documented his experience on film. It was a
beautiful movie, and what was really amazing was how close he became to his
new tribe and they to him. I do remember that this particular group had the
huge hanging earlobes split with tons of earrings, even the men. I think he
eventually did return back to Germany, and if my memory serves correct, I
believe he was a professor.. Maybe someone on the list knows more and can
fill in the missing links...

Sorry for being vague.

Cheers,

Judy Genova, cavegirl
