Recent article in Village Voice (02/26/02) by Erik Baard regarding the
conceptual status of LARGE skyscraper fantasies, including orbital towers (an
elevator to space and the building built from space downward by nano-robots
stringing molecular worms together that are 100 times stronger than steel)
provieds the following quote,

"Hemp wearers might hate to hear it, but in terms of energy use and
consumption of green space, a person living in Trump Tower is already doing
the planet more good than an organic farmer in Vermont."

Trump Tower is not too far distant from where I saw the yuppie anarchists
massing a few weeks ago in front of the Plaza Hotel. They looked cute. Beside
that I somehow doubt Mr. Trump has a diddly of space in his head to worry
about green conservation, there is something to be said for the environmental
efficiency of megabuildings. I like the idea that they are considering
outfitting them with wind generators and solar cells.
