My kids loved to gnaw on apples at that age. They would hold the whole
apple and work away at it. They also gnawed on whole carrots or any
hard food, though you have to be careful they do not manage to bite
off a big chunk. Also crunchy foods like crackers. They need to
exercise their teeth.
