Also.. I just wanted to mention my mother because I'm so proud of her..
At age 80, she changed from many years of vegetarian diet to an
almost-Paleo, low-carb diet (Paleo plus a little fermented dairy),
easing into it gradually. She remains more open to change than many
young people I know. Since making the dietary change, this is the first
time in many years that she's been able to be off meds for hypertension.
All the meditation, exercise, etc. didn't do enough, only the diet did.
Who knows how much of the effects of those drugs can be reversed, but in
many ways she's healthier now than she was 10 years ago.
Many older people become inflexible mentally and physically, but I don't
expect we all have to.
