I read the book a while back and consciously increased my water intake. It
seems to have helped. I live in a semi-arid region and dehydration can sneak
up on a person quickly.
My DH has been a paraplegic for 27 years as of today. He's had a urinary
catheter for the past 24 of those years. He was told at the very beginning
to try and consume an average of 4 quarts of water daily to keep his system
flushed. This is above and beyond any other beverages. He normally exceeds
the 4 quart level! He's reduced his carbs but isn't yet paleo. It may never
happen, but I'll accept whatever compromises he's willing to make. He has a
wonderful perspective on life...he chose the fourth anniversary of his
accident as our wedding day. He always believed that his accident was not a
tragedy but a day of significant change in his life...he feels marriage is
also a significant change in a persons life.

I had to "learn" to drink more water. Several years ago I made a conscious
effort to drink at least 1/2 gallon a day. After many months or more...I
developed a feeling of needing to drink more water.
