I had acute appendicitis in 1966. I have a 5 inch scar. I ate lots of canned food over rice.
If it is caught before the appendix bursts and so spews the gut contents into the abdominal cavity, there is a small scar,
about 1 inch for an adult.
There is massive infection, so antibiotics necessary.
