Hello,
Yesterday I went to inspect an ADA ramp poured at the main entry to the
oldest foster care organization in the country (172 years) The
buildings are not registry and only date to 1919, but they are of brick
colonial style and quite beautiful. The ramp was designed by an
architect with a good eye for traditional buildings and it was carefully
detailed. Following the dirt and form inspection by myself and the
building inspector the low bidder for the masonry and the Director of
Facilities added curves and widened the ramp prior to the pour. The
completed undulating slab of concrete is quite stunning, and what a
surprise! Yahooooooo.....
Best,
Leland

david,

In regard to your impending site visit to enforce the Specifications,
I'm trying (without success) to figure out how to paraphrase Bismarck's
remark (as opposed to Remarque, who came later) to the effect that when
he heard the word "culture" he reached for his revolver.

It is a never-ending source of mystery to me why people, like
f'rinstance contractors, don't do things the way they have contractually
obligated themselves to do them. I am not relieved to hear that this is
also the case Down Under.

As for wearing the brown helmet, you are not alone.

Ralph
