     Hi,

       Here's some of my experiences.

In the case of the Celiac the immune system boosts an unwanted
 response.

This response damages the stomach lining and/or leads to a stressed
 liver.

The response can be avoided by following a GF diet. Also the liver needs
 to be rested.

This means no alcohol, no vitamins, no concentrated juices, no spices, no
chillies, little salt, little toothpaste, no fizzy drinks or squashes, etc.
Just a very plain and basic diet only.

Once the liver picks up then probably it is safe to consume more
nutritional foods which are GF. The liver could take months to fully
recover.

A poorly functioning liver creates lethargy, poor energy, tiredness,
dizzieness, headaches similar to a hangover, 'woozieness'.

Headaches can come from this (because the liver pushes un- metabolised
substances into the blood stream) and from lack of salt, which enables a
build up of fluid which puts pressure the brain.

A damaged stomach lining will create digestion difficulties and pain.
It will lead to an instant drop in all round energy levels and a sudden
feeling of weakness.

It will also be prone to acid problems. This can show up with products
such as fizzy drinks containing Aspartame or Nutrasweet, or even
ordinary Fizzy drinks as well.

Undigested matter can become a haven for undesirable bacteria which then
can cause Bowel problems such as IBS, Crohns, Collitis, etc.

There is a study which shows that a modern more hygienic society leads to an
unwanted response. The immune response has little to occupy it so it
finds stimuli elsewhere. This could be Gluten, pollen, pollution, dust,
etc. The study also shows that people or children exposed to
traditional stimuli are less likely to develop unwanted responses.

The pace of modern living also produces more stress. Stress has an
impact also on the immune system.

Toxin also affects the immune response. This may sound obvious.
A source of toxin can be one's filling for example.

Acid(e.g. from an apple) combined with salt(from a bag of salted fries)
can release gaseous toxin from fillings via saliva into the stomach and
 lungs.

Generally a happier person has far greater effective immunity.
An ineffective but strong immune response can lead to e.g. Celiacs and
 diabetes, etc.

A weak immune response leads to more bacterial & viral infections as well
 as colds & flu, etc.

Sustained toxin ingestion will trigger a strong and effective immune
response continually and will also lead to stomach, liver and lung problems
 already highlighted.

So: (Genetic/hereditary, Environment, Stress, Illness, Accident,
 Radiation, Poisoning) -->
-->(Particle/Gluten Rejection and Allergy) ---> (Unwanted Immune
 Responses)  -->
-->(Stomach, Liver, Lungs and Bowel problems) -->
-->(Poor digestion, loss of strength, lethargy, tension/on edge, poor
sleep, poor breathing, poor concentration, poor bowel movements, etc)

Gluten problems result in an attack on the small intestine, the bowel and
the liver as well as the blood stream.

Poor energy conversion also means poorly oxygenated blood.

This can lead to breathing problems and brain cell destruction.

Gluten unfortunately can elicit an immune response almost immediately.

There are however products which retard the immune response. Combine this
which a substance which breakdowns the

Gluten into a more fundamental substance fairly quickly then maybe an
effective preventative medicine could be created.

For now a Celiac has no choice but to stay away from Gluten and/or
 stress.

I wonder if it is possible to retrain the immune response to ignore
Gluten? Conditioning may play a role in this.

PS Are there any Celiacs who have noticed that they have began 'wheezing'
 when breathing hard?

      Cheers, Anand.
