I just called the 1-800 numbers for Lactaid milk and for Suiza Foods
Company who makes SunSoy soy milks sold at our local WalMart.

Lactaid: 1-800-522-8243
Suiza Foods: 1-800-441-3321

I had recently read that Lactaid-70 milk is not gluten-free due to
possibility of contamination. I'd been drinking over a gallon of
Lactaid-100 milk with extra calcium each week. (Getting my calcium/vit.
D--)

Was told by both food companies that they "cannot guarantee the
gluten-free status of these products."

Sounded like they were reading from a script - both of them - the same
script. Made me wonder if food companies are getting jittery - fear of
being held liable/sued? So they just use the same 'pat' phrase in answer
to the question - anyway, something's been causing me problems - maybe
it's the Lactaid. Thought I'd share--
