I am taking the liberty of quoting some information in regards to the Outback
Steak Houses that was printed in the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG)
Newsletter (3rd quarter of 2000).

Cynthia Kupper, CRD and Executive Director of GIG worked with the Outback
Steak House Corporation to identify items on the menu that are Gluten Free.
Here is a very important quote from the GIG Newsletter. "The Outback
Corporation owns all restaurants, except those in WA, CA, OR, MA, and AL".
This tells us that the Outback Restaurants in these states are not required
to follow the corporate menu.

Another important statement from the newsletter is "Although GIG and Outback
Steak House distribute this menu...it is a guide only. Please take the time
to verify that things remain as indicated on the menus."

I hope this helps those of you that have been struggling with the Outback
Restaurants. Perhaps one of the first questions we need to ask is do they
follow the Corporate Menu for Gluten Free Meals.
