I supplement with fish oil + borage oil because I have found them to
completely relieve all menstrual cramping. I now have no menstrual
cramping whatsoever. Prior to supplementation, I have always eaten fairly
large amounts of omega-3 rich fish ie daily sardines, plus salmon or other
fatty fish at least twice per week. However, I still had menstrual
discomfort until I began supplementing with fish oil + borage. I also like
the taste of coconut oil and use it on vegetables instead of butter, and
sometimes for sauteeing. Some on this list have mentioned that coconut oil
can help a sluggish thyroid. I am wondering if there is any harm in taking
supplements of highly unsaturated oils such as fish oil/borage (I know that
they are very prone to peroxidation in the body) plus highly saturated fat
such as coconut oil? Will the fish oil/borage slow my thyroid function?
