when OI updated through the reader today it still sent me to the update site
where i had to then download and install the reader; so I am not sure it
would actually do an automatic update, although it would search for one.

also, although it's great that  one may now export to text in this reader, I
don't think it will solve the problem of inaccessible files.  You'll find
that, just as before, the export to text option will be unabailable.  so if
you have files that you can only read with acrobat f.05, you should still
keep that version.
