Dear list members,
There are a lot of e-mail discussion listings about sight impaired related
topics on the Internet, but I'm wondering there are less newsgroups on USENET.
Bas Cancrinus, a subscriber of my "The Screen Magnifiers News and
Discussion list", has post a proposal in the newsgroup alt.config to start
a newsgroup alt.comp.access.magnifiers.
We are planning also to propose alt.comp.access.readers and
alt.comp.access.ocr in the near future.
What I like to ask you is:
- Do you read newsgroups?
(if not why not?)
- What software do you use to read newsgroups?
- Do you prefer reading message via e-mail or via newsgroup why?
I have the impression that most of you prefer reading messages by e-mail
instead of newsgroup, but I will know if this is realy true and what
possible problems people have to read newsgroups.
We want a more central plave on the Internet where people can find
information about accessibility features and announcements of new products.
I also ask vendors of accessibility features to co-operate and support
these future newsgroup by:
- announcing new products;
- By answering support question from posters;
You are invited to comment on the proposal for alt.comp.access.magnifiers
by reading the proposal in this newgroup and give your opinion.
We hope to improve service with this initiative to the whole internet
community.
Regards Peter Verhoeven
