I think you are referring to one of those vegan myths that I used to quote in my
ignorance when I was a vegan activist. As I recall there was one study where
they used lab animals and some sort of protein powder. This is not what happens
when people eat whole foods.

I do eat organ meat. There is a group here in Los Angeles that have made contact
with a grass fed buffalo rancher in Nebraska that supplies us with wonderful
organ meat and now muscle meat also. I just got a 10 pound roast plus heart,
liver, kidney, lung, pancreas, spleen, thymus. Sometimes we have gotten testicle
and ovary and brain. It is expensive. We pay $5 per pound plus next day air
shipping and and handling. Three pounds of organs comes to about $25. We are
paying for quality and getting it. Heart is my favorite and lung is my least
favorite. The liver is very good also. We eat it all raw.

I have been doing this low carb diet for about 2 weeks now. I was eating a lot
more fruit. My body likes this way of eating right now. When it tells me to
change I will. Having eaten raw for so many years has enabled me to be really in
tune with my body. I "know" when I am have eaten something "wrong" and adjust to
bring my body into feeling "right". I put these words in quotes because they are
not not easy to define scientifically. I hope this communicates to you.
