They can last 4-5 days worth if the knot is "not" pulled too tight.
Fortunately, large knots (e.g., full Windsors) are not stylish these days,
so the knots can be simple.

That's what my ex husband used to do just as a time saver.  It worked like a
charm for him.  I'm not sure how often he had to retie the knots though.
