Great, Yes. Perfect, No.
Wonderful for $35 new, direct from the factory (in December 2000)
shipping included, Yes. (This was a WEB page deal on their site...)
I have a Visioneer ® OneTouch ® 5300 Series for USB.
Most of their line require new drivers for WinME and USB. (And they
have them, so an immediate download was required...)
It came with an older copy of their PaperPort program, no other "free"
software. None of the "direct access" buttons on the scanner work,
but it does great quality scans... To tell the truth, I only made a brief
attempt to set up the direct access buttons, but failed miserably...
I figured that was the reason for their low price... They "might" work,
if I put in enough effort... I use it exactly like it was my similar parallel
port scanner with no buttons...
MUCH faster... I miss my "naps" now while scanning... <grin>
There are "deals" out there if you are lucky enough to stumble across them...
Note: This was a clean install, on a clean install of WinME, Amptron
9900 VIA/MB, (not the best), on board USB port. YMMV.
