I am trying to install RH 7.0 in a dual boot mode and have tried everything
I can find in the manuals. Configuration is a 20G Hard Drive in
approximately 3 equal partitions(one primary and the other 2 on extended)
C:, D, and E. with win98se on C. I have tried making a 3G C Drive and a 3G
Linux partition(ext2) with PartitionMagic which didn't work(didn't bring up
the automatic partion option during install) and then substituted 3G free
space for the ext2 partion, which also didn't work. During the install an
option to use Disk Druid and fdisk appear, but I don't know enough to use
these options. I have even tried entering "linux lba32"(without the quotes)
at the initial boot prompt as in the manual, but it didn't help. I was able
to install on an old 1.2G hard drive, but it died before I could learn much
about linux. It did the automatic partitioning after I made it and ext2
volume. I have a RH Linux 7 for Dummies, but I don't know enough yet to be
classed a dummy. The book assumes everything goes automatically, which it
doesn't. The statement on the automaic Partitioning install screen is
"there is not enough space to use automatic partioning", but the failed
drive was only 1.2G. Does anyone have words of wisdom? Thanks
