The last time I read about the PIV, it would only work with the board and
chipset that Intel was releasing at the same time. It sounded like they
were going to try and prevent other board manufacturers from releasing
chipsets that would work with the PIV as well, but you know how that
political jockeying goes.
The biggest problem I saw with it was the fact that their new chipset would
only work with RAMBUS memory. That's a whole 'nother HUGE can of worms we
could open, but I won't go there now. I'm trying to recall this from
memory, so my information may not be totally accurate, but it sounds like
the new Pentium will not work with any of the current motherboard
architectures.
