A new version of the Canada Food Guide (the official Canadian version of the
SAD pyramid) has been published in the territory of Nunavut. It's been
altered to fit the cultural eating habits of the Inuit, the dominant
population in Nunavut. Recommendations for chicken & beef have been
replaced with other more appropriate meats, like seal and whale and caribou.
I'm not not being too optimistic: I'd wager that the grain recommendations
haven't changed; but still, it's a move in the right direction. I'd love to
get my hands on a copy of this guide.
