Meditation ! a study done on practitioner of transcendantal meditation
showed they had an higher level of Dhea than the average.
Dhea is secreted by the adrenal cortex and is suspected of being secreted by
certain brain cells also .
To reach the point where the adrenal cortex is not able to secrete
sufficient ( to survive) amount of hormones ( cortisone dhea etc...) 90 per
cent of the cortex must be destroyed ( by autoimmune process )
there is many indications that there is an epidemic of undiagnosed adrenal
insufficiencies ( low dhea might be a sign).
Dhea is synthetised from cholesterol in the body.
