Dear List:

In reply to a query about yellow dyes in enteric-coated aspirin:
several people replied who had severe reactions to food dyes of various
(or, in one case, all) sorts. I am fairly well satisfied that it is not
a gluten-type reaction that I had (severely inflamed and painful mouth
sores). It leads me to believe that other dermatological symptoms that
I have are not gluten-related, either, but are from sensitivity to dyes.

Just for the record: I take the prescribed 81 mg of aspirin by
splitting a regular adult aspirin in quarters with a commercially
available pill splitter, which works fairly well.... (The aspirin was
prescribed as a possible relief for symptoms of peripheral neuropathy--
it seems it might improve circulation in the capillaries at the tips of
the extremities. We shall see.)
