Thanks for all the responses on carbohydrate malabsorption.
Here are the results:
14 said take enzymes supplements 8 said take probioticts 12 said cut out
the complex carbs until healed (whenever that is!) 1 said I may have a
yeast problem 4 said bacterial overgrowth Everyone said be patient...
give it time... 1 - 2 years Also I was told (by one person) that Dr.
Frasano only does the tTG test now (as I had done) to determine CD. hmmm
Here is a story. In 1996 I was having the same problem. Potatoes, bread,
other goodies undigested. I had never heard of celiac or gluten then. My
doctor told me I had a great deal of inflamation and put me on Cipro 500
mg bid and Flagyl 500ms bid I had fought the problem for about 3 months
before medication. I took the medication and within 5 days my problems
of potato chunks coming out as potato came out of normal stool. hmmm
I've deciced to cut out the heavy carbs. I am also going to get mid-evil
with my bowels and do a 10 day course of Cipro and Flagyl. I have a
feeling it is bacterial overgrowth. I will supplement with probiotics as
I go along. I take them now anyway. I will also be doing a Nystatin
course along with it. Clean house and start from scratch. That will give
me my answer. I have suspected this for months now, and now I will find
out. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks for all of the responses
