Regarding the article in Friday's (5/11) Wall Street Journal:
The title of the story is: "Let Them Eat (non-gluten) Cake," NOT "Let
Them Eat (Gluten-free) Cake." The inaccuracy of the term "non-gluten"
says everything about why the article shouldn't be taken seriously.
Nowhere but the headline does the word "gluten" come up as one of the
"allergies" exasperated dinner hosts have to accommodate. Celiac
disease was never mentioned. Folks, read the story again. It wasn't
about us.
Twenty dollars says that headline wasn't written by the author, but by
an editor who was trying to be clever. Overreacting to a story that
wasn't about people with celiac disease won't earn us any credibility.
Let it go.
