When I was researching home brewing (I was going to get into that until I
realized that it was incompatible with the type of diet I was doing), I ran
across several recipes for making beer with hemp as opposed to hops. The
two are closely related; they can be grafted onto each other. I even read
that if you grafted hops ontl a hemp stock, you end up with hops containing
all of the psychoactive properties of hemp. Sounds like a interesting
project for the underground botanist.

I'm very surprised to hear that the government has decided to allow the use
hemp seed in beer-making. But then again, it's beer, and alcohol is
protected. Try to get the government to relax on any strictly herbal
intoxicants (which have been a part of society since ancient times) and
it's a different story.

Re hemp seed -- I heard there is a Micro Brew starting up in Washington DC
making beer from hemp seed it is importing with FDA approval.

Endless the products of agriculture and the big $$$, the beer expects to
sell "very briskly".
