My dh is the celiac in the family, self-dx'd a year ago, confirmed via
blood testing (but no biopsy) just recently. It seems that he gets sick
(ie, colds and flus) in one of two ways: either he gets "a touch" of it,
and it lingers for several weeks, or he gets really, really sick and is
wiped out for at least a full week-- in bed, virtually unconscious.
These are not celiac- related illness, but colds, flu, strep (the most
recent ailment).
Does celiac affect the rate at which people recover from colds and flus
and other winter bugs?
Later,
Pam
