Hello everyone,
Here is a summary of comments and questions I received regarding my post
about Saffola Unsalted Margarine, which is stated by the manufacturer,
Ventura Foods, to be Gluten Free and Lactose Free.
One person commented that Shedd's Willow Run is also GF and Dairy Free.
One person commented that Fleishmann's Unsalted Margarine is also GF and
Milk Free, with the kosher "U" and Pareve symbols on the box.
One person asked if Saffola was made from Safflower oil. Safflower oil is
listed as the first ingredient.
One person asked if the Saffola was soy and canola free as well. It is
free of canola, but NOT free of soy.
One person asked if any of their other stick margarines are GF, and also if
I knew anything about Nucoa Margarine. I have no info about Nucoa, and as
far as the Saffola line, the unsalted in the only GF LF one.
I am also happy to report that my husband has been eating the Saffola
Unsalted Margarine for about a week with no adverse effect!
Original Post:
After searching for a margarine product that is GF and Lactose Free, I
discovered Saffola Unsalted margarine. It comes in sticks, it is spreadable
and delicious. I found it in a grocery store. It is manufactured by Ventura
Foods of City of Industry, Ca. When I questioned them, they assured me via
Email that this product is GF and Lactose Free. I have no affiliation with
this company. I am just happy to find something that my husband can have on
his toast or baked potato. Blessings to all. Linda Smotony
