Hi Siverine,

Yeah, I noticed some of the contradictory information about braille
embossers. Many embossers have a graphics mode on them. However, the
word graphics has to be used pretty loosely here. Your typical embosser
has a resolution of about 12 dots per inch. The Tiger has a resolution of
about 20 dots per inch. Since the dot patterns are equally spaced, you
can't get a very realistic curve out of these embossers. For example, the
closest thing you can get to a circle is an octagon.

You may want to consider an Image Enhancer from Repro-Tronics
http://www.repro-tronics.com

It uses something called Flexy Paper which you can print an image on, then
heat it and wherever there are lines the paper swells. You will get much
better curves from this than from a braille embosser. I don't remember
what the actual resolution is but it is significantly higher than even the
Tiger embosser.

Hope this was of some help and didn't confuse the issue even more.

Dan
