All attempts at getting the Hard Drive problem I reported on recently have
failed. FDisk sees the drive but using /MBR has no effect. The Western
Digital Diagnostic & Repair util recommended by Russell reports that it
found and corrected one minor error but there is still no access.

I found a demo of a hard drive data recovery program called Easy Recovery
by Ontrack and it is able to see most of the data on the drive. The demo
only allows for the recovery of a few files though so I am considering
purchasing it to get full recovery.

On the other hand, I thought I would ask the folks here if there is any
other software that is recommended. Norton Utils perhaps? EasyRecovery
will cost approx $90.00 US (so that's about $140.00 Canadian). I'd rather
pay less but of course want something that will actually work and not
cause any more problems.

Thanks in advance.

Gary
