I have placed the text of a short psychoanalytic talk on 'Hate' in
the vault of the Human-Nature eGroup
http://www.egroups.com/docvault/human-nature/Young-Hate

The talk was given in the series sponsored by CONFER on The Clinical
Encounter: Series One -- 'Surviving Love, Hate and Terror in the
Clinical Encounter', 20 November 1999 at the Tavistock Clinic.

Egroup vaults are easy to put things into but not always easy to get
them out of in a readable form. Here's how: If you double-click the
title in the vault's table of contents, the software begins to
download it into your computer. You have to choose to finish the
download. You are then asked where you want it filed in your
computer. Then you have to open your word processing
program - Microsoft Word or whatever - and select Open from the File
menu and navigate to the essay title (Young-Hate), and it should open.
If you have too much trouble, ask me, and I'll send it as an
attachment or by email.

Season's Greetings to all.

Best, Bob Young

Here is a description of the eGroup and how to join/access it.

HUMAN NATURE eGroup
[log in to unmask]

This eGroup is designed to provide a space for interdisciplinary
discussion of issues concerning human nature, including, for example,
philosophical and historical issues, theories of human nature in
psychology and the human sciences, archaeology, psychiatry,
psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. The idea behind it is, once again,
to build bridges, i.e., the opposite of sectarian carping,
downputting or scoring. The academic division of labour is so
balkanised that it is often difficult to know what's going on in
fields quite close to one's own, never mind ones which are more
intellectually distant. I hope subscribers will draw the eGroup's
attention to important new ideas and publications. I also hope people
will offer essays for the Vault (web site) and links to other
relevant web sites. Academics, clinicians and interested laypeple are
all welcome.
