What firmware version are you using in the router? Also, what
brand/model modem and NIC are you using?

Recent Linksys firmware releases have improved connectability
between the router and certain DSL implementations.

You might consider upgrading to the latest BEFSR11/41
firmware. You can download 1.38.5 from this link:
http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/31;62045cda2d23d063cdd081d79194e9e5/bin.zip

The file bin.zip contains the latest flash program (tftp.exe) and
the firmware image file 1.38.5.bin. Instructions for flashing
the firmware are contained in this file:
http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/32;31c2f17cfbba83494d74d8e0617c6d58/DOCs.zip

Upgrading the firmware of the Linksys router is extremely easy.

Note that 1.38.5 is a beta firmware but most people who have tried it
consider it to be the best BEFSR firmware yet...by far. The various
firmware revisions have added features to the router. They have also
solved many problems that occured when using the router with xDSL.
For example, 1.38.5 sped up the process where my Win2k computer
connects to the router. It went from 72 seconds to 5 seconds.
Other people say the new firmware noticeably increases the speed
of their Internet throughput. See http://www.dslreports.com/forum/equip,16
for more information. (This is the Linksys forum at DSL Reports.)
