I believe it depends on the processor (for example some treat 1.5x as a
higher multiplier) but whatever it is for the CPU you have it is motherboard
universal. Socket 7 has certain defined pins that tell the processor what
multiplier to use. By setting it to 2x the motherboard simply asserts a
pattern of offs and ons on those pins. The processor uses this to determine
what multiplier to use. The thing is that the MB doesn't know or care what
multiplier the processor actually uses, so if your processor sees 2x as 6x
the MB won't mind. TTYL
