yes, we do deal with SB card every day, and as far as I can tell, you may
have to try the following:
1) If you don't need the funcy software come with SB CD, don't touch them,
just install the lastest driver (download from www.sblive.com), the
down-side of this is that you cannot swith speaker mode in windows (eg
switch from 4 spk to 2 spk ...), you can only switch output mode in
applications (like games, in option menu...). I personal perfer this way.
2) Load the CD first, then update the driver, IMPORTANT: in Device manager,
make sure there is no other devices share IRQ with your SB card, if there is
any, you will likely exp problems. You may have to adjust BIOS to config IRQ
to PCI slot (usually IRQ5 to your card).

Subject: [PCBUILD] Sblive 5.1 platinum

> I have fitted the new sblive 5.1 soundcard, on to the windows me. I have
since had a lot of different errors, and the system is not operating as
smoothly. Main error occurs when i try to close the ct2 player, it will not
shut down and the only way to get out of the error is to reboot. My 3D mark
score went from 5800 to 5640. There are no patches or updates for this card
yet, has anyone else had any problems with this card and did you fix it. If
you fixed it what did you do?
