Todd, you are a wealth of information! I read the Zone a while back and
always struggled with the AA concept. Your post made such sense. I think
Sears may have made a mistake encouraging egg whites and skinless chicken
breast over yolks and beef, and also not allowing much protein (and
therefore much food) if you're a small person. Consequently I was starving
the whole time! I felt dreadful on his diet and so much better eating less
carbs, more protein and fat, lots of egg yolks and paleo food. A lot of info
in his book was very interesting and I don't have the expertise to critise
his book, that was just my personal experience. I would be very interested
to hear other people's views/experiences on The Zone, and how eicosanoids
are affected by a paleo diet, which is not usually strictly 40/30/30, which
Sears insists is the only way to be really healthy. I always had trouble
with the necessity to eat exact ratios of C/P/F. Would our H/G ancestors
have done this?
Bridget.
