hi i installed
win98se, after i formatted it every thing was going ok till i put a cd in to play music, the player came
up and the numbers were showing that it was working but no sound, when i put
a midi or a wav on it would show the bar moveing like its working but were the
volume is it had a red x on it, if you put the mouse on it , it says mute,it has no
speaker in the lower right task bar, i went to control panel and then to multimedia
were it says show speaker in task bar it has a check mark there but it is grayed
out and i can't get it to work, and were the play and record is it says no device,
and also grayed out,the modem don't work but i want to try to get the sound to
work first , i went to compter that is working and found file (sndvol32.exe) when
i click on this in the good computer all the volumes come up,so i put it on a floppy
and put in on the ibm in the same place c/windows and when i click on it there
nothing came up,is there some thing i forgot to install,i thought the windows media
