Yes you can dual boot to support your scanner...this is what I am doing now.
I have a SCSI UMAX scanner and I have the same problem with Win 2000
drivers. UMAX will not be providing any for 2000. Of course they said the
same thing about NT4 and two years later they had drivers BUT it is a big
hassle to boot into another OS when you want to scan something.Now days you
can find high quality USB scanners for a very reasonable price. If you do a
lot of scanning then this is what you will end up doing.
