Well, I have lost 125 pounds and my family and friends, including a
cardiologist friend of the family are STILL trying to get me to use the Dean
Ornish plan that I GAINED weight on! Before I started loosing weight my BP
was dangerously high and would not respond much at all to medications, now
my BP is always around 95/60 with NO drugs or herbal formulas! That alone
should get that dumb doctor's attention! *sigh* and people actually wonder
why I refuse to go to doctors anymore!
I have a friend who is gaining weight on the diabetic diet plan he got from
his doctor. He still keeps saying all that meat I eat will give kill me.
Last week I was with him on a visit with his diabetes nurse. He told her
what I had for lunch and she said with my weight and eating what I did, my
glucose would blow through the roof. Just for giggles I let her stick my
finger, glucose was at 80 dl/mg LOL! She didn't believe her Dinamap when she
saw my blood pressure. She re-checked it with her mercury column, nothing
wrong with the ole Dinamap! LOL. I told her I must be doing something right!
She would have croaked if she saw my ketone level, but I didn't think of
that one at the time, besides she ain't my nurse! <G>
I give up! I will just let 'em play with their Deal-A-Meal cards and what
have you and I will have a good ole medium done steak while they eat some
frozen packaged fat free diet pizza that tastes like cardboard. I feel like
I did my part, I even GAVE copies of Ray's book to my friends.
