"Clan of the Cave Bear".... is about early human culture and describes in
detail food gathering, flint knapping and all kinds of survival strategies
of hunter-gatherers.
I'd add:
There are four books in the series, each more intriguing than the last.
Each discusses new foods and hunting and gathering techniques. There is a
fifth book in the works. I don't know when it will be out. Soon, I hope!
Oh, Auel's books have been published in many languages, so those of you who
prefer to read in German, French, Hebrew, or whatever, may read her books in
non-English languages.
