I found out on Friday that I've been accepted to George Washington
University (in DC). This is my first choice school, since I want to go
into political science and eventually disability rights law. Plus, it's
far enough away from home to let me get a taste of independence, but my
parents will be a half hour away in an emergency. To make it even
better, they just notified me that I got a Presidential Scholarship
(which carries 15k - less than half of tuition, but still a hefty sum).
I'm really proud that all of my awards have been for merit, not because
someone pitied my disability. I love the campus, the people, the
program, and everything about it. I couldn't be more excited. Thought
you all would want to share in my good news.
