Well, our esteemed Sharpshooter turns out to have been right again: His
colleague at the Times, Mr. John Tierney, having just been inconvenienced for
2 whole weeks by having had fire sprinklers installed in his apartment
(including closets, which in his apartment were miraculously built of solid
masonry, store absolutely no flammable materials whatsoever, and have no
voids in them which would permit the spread of fire to or from adjacent
spaces) thinks the landlord (in addition to the union, but not the
Contractor, evidently) was the big benificiary of this boondoggle crammed
down his throat by the City of New York.
Mr. Tierney , as seen in today's Times and as previously reported by one of
our own, is indeed an idiot, and apparently one who has never been in a fire,
or seen a building that burned. Just shows what good luck and inexperience
can do to skew some people's view of the world.
