A co-worker was leaving and as is custom we asked her where she would like
to be taken for lunch. She chose an Italian restaurant that is well-known
for good pasta. I phoned the day before to quiz the hostess on what on the
menu was okay for me, after discussing it with her I settled on a salad.
Well the next day when we got there we all ordered and then she asked who
had the "allergy". I said it was me and she said that the chef had gone out
the evening before and purchased some rice spaghetti at the specialty store
and he would make me a sauce with olive oil, salt, pepper, basel (I think it
was) and fresh tomatoes all fried up. I got the same serving as everyone
else and was charged the same as well. It also was probably the best sauce
I tasted. Hats off to, for those of you in Edmonton, Sorrento's on Whyte,
for a job well-done.
I have also called the restaurant and spoke with the manager regarding the
superior service I received from his staff without them being requested to
go the extra mile for me.
