Perhaps I should have added emphasis -- I have had 2 sinus infections from
bad colds over the past four years in total. Prior to that it was 4 per
year or about 12 over 3 years in total. Milk has a reputation for creating
additional mucous and I have a broken nose with a tortuous nasal passage. I
drank 6 glasses a day.

I too suffer from airborne allergens, particularly ragweed but have added
grass and trees over the past 10 years. I suspect we who have allergies are
more susceptible to others. However, it was the awful airborne pollution
which drove me away from Toronto. As best I could determine, it was ground
level ozone but there was a witches brew. Parts of the US midwest and
southern California are the same.

I think some of it is genes because my mother had bronchitis and asthma. My
sister is LI and a daughter as well. I don't know how, but there is some
kind of intersection, physiologically between these allergies. Some day a
researcher will find the gene.

All that being said, it's a wonderful life <g>. I've learned to live with
it and adjust. The people I feel really sorry for are the small children
with serious food allergies and their parents. I am still struck by a
comment made here a while ago about an anaphylactic boy who reacted to ice
cream dripped on his arm.
