This isn't good news!  A while ago I ran across a free service that Yahoo
has called Yahoo Groups.  It allows you to set up email lists like this one.
However, I have no idea whether it would meet our needs (i.e. archiveable
messages, messages in digest form, ways to contact or look up list members
individually).  Does anyone else know more about this?  I believe it's free.
