Keith,
The only talking cell phone I know of is the Nokia 9290 communicator with
the Talx software. It's actually a cell phone and PDA all in one.
You can find out more about the Nokia 9290 communicator at:
http://www.nokiausa.com/communicator/support/faq/1,5444,43,00.html
You can think of the Talx software as a screen reader for the Nokia
Communicator. You can find out more about the Talx software at:
http://www.talx.de
This solution gives you a lot more than a cell phone, and it does a lot
more than just read the text messages. It also costs a lot more. The
Nokia Communicator retails for $599.99 in the US and the Talx software
will probably cost between $300 and $400 in the US. The Talx software for
the 9290 should be available in the US in January, and a beta is available
now.
The Nokia Communicator and the Talx software were demonstrated on ACB
Radio last Tuesday. You should be able to catch the demo during a
rebroadcast or find it in the archives.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Talking cell phone
Has anyone heard anything about a talking cell phone? One where you push
a
button and it will read text messages on your cell phone.
Thanks.
