BLINDSTORMING!

This week we're putting together your wish list of adaptive technology.
We've received several answers to our email from yesterday. One eSight
reader said she is looking forward to buying FineReader®, scanning and OCR
software that will allow her to turn print into something her screen reader
can use.

Care to do some Blindstorming™? That's what we're calling a new tool we've
developed to facilitate problem-solving about disability here at eSight
Careers
Network™. We all know that some of the best ideas come from others who have
"been there." Blindstorming™, a cross between brainstorming and a weblog,
is designed to draw all our creative minds together to solve challenges, one
challenge at a time.

To give you a couple examples, we've asked how you handle declining unwanted
help, how you would deal with unexpected access barriers at a job interview,
and we've talked
about transportation solutions. Come take a
look: you'll be amazed at all the great responses!

To demo Blindstorming™, go to
http://www.esight.org/form_question_main_anon.cfm?pid=32. You'll read about
the tool and then proceed to this week's topic. Give us your ideas and
feedback in the form provided. And be sure to tell us on the form what
burning question is plaguing you or a topic you simply are interested to
see what others think about.

See replies to last week’s Blindstorming(tm) topic
about options for getting to work once you get a job.
The compilation is available at
http://www.esight.org/index.cfm?x=994

It doesn't matter if you are registered on eSight Careers Network™ or not.
You can access the page -- we want your ideas! But we hope while you are
there you'll look around and register -- and sign up for eSight's Network
News™. Registering on eSight is free -- and we never share your email
address or contact information. We are here for all disabilities, not just
visual impairments, as so
much is shared by us all.

eSight has really taken off -- and we are having an impact! Be part of our
success: it's your success too.

Warmly,

Nan Hawthorne
Blindstorming™ Facilitator
