Dwight,
You seem angry that some list members doubt your physical harm resulting
from static discharge of a video monitor.
I suppose that you wrote to seek a solution and I offer these:
1. Would using one of the new flat panel screens help? I believe these
are similar to the displays used on laptop computers and static buildup
would be reduced. Have you explored these?
2. Have you considered turning to screen magnification or the use of
speech output?
3. If the previous ideas are not acceptable, would there be some means of
protecting yourself from the static burns? Something as simple as a
bandage or maybe some kind of lightning rod to route the charges to ground
potential.
I believe you wrote to this vicug-l list in search of a solution and hope
you will report back with your findings.
