Friends,
In spite of numerous attempts the lawyers have not been able to locate and
see Dumo. Emanuel Joof went to Kanifing Magistrate today to find out what
transpired there last Friday: The magistrate ordered continued detention and
was supposed to go through the evidences during the weekend, decide whether
to prosecute and if so file the case at the Bjl High Court on Monday 17th.
NO case ha´s been filed yet - we suppose that means that they cannot find
enough to prosecute.
Mr Yarbo's (co-suspected with Dumo) wife and her lawyer Ousman Sillah,
received a High Court ruling yesterday, when THEY accused the state of
unlawful arrest and detention, that completely contradicted the ruling
concerning Dumo's arrest.
Lawyer Sillah will appeal. I believe that our respective lawyers will now
take a joint approach on the whole affair.
Today I also sent a long fax to the Swedish Embassy in Dakar with some of
the local news-paper articles etc from here. I am also trying to secure an
appointment with the EU-ambassador here.
Dagens Nyheter, the biggest Swedish newspaper have also contacted me and I
was able to supply them with faxed copies of the relevant newspaper-articles
and relevant correspondence so far.
Thanks for your untiring support.
Annika
