Each state allocates its electoral votes to the candidate that wins the
POPULAR vote in each state. The electoral college makes it more difficult
for one large state to over ride the interests of smaller states. This is an
example of the checks and balances our constitution employs to prevent too
great an accumulation of power by any one arm of our government. The
candidate who ultimately gets the most electoral college votes wins. That
should eventually be George. The constitutionally meaningless NATIONWIDE
popular vote is irrelevant in the determination of who is to be the head of
the executive branch of the federal government.
