Somebody (Sharpshooter Chris?)  asked about white bronze awhile back, and I
just ran across a description of it in an Oct 2000 CONSTRUCTION SPECIFIER
article called "Capabilities and Limitations of Architectural Metals" by one
Catherine Houska:

"Nickel silvers are copper-nickel-zinc alloys with a golden-silver luster.
They were particularly popular during the early 1900s when Art Deco
architecture was in style.. Other names used for this alloy family are German
silver, white copper, white bronze, Paris metal, and dairy bronze."

One hopes her knowledge of metallurgy exceeds her knowledge of architectural
history (early 1900's Art Deco), comparative color (golden-silver) and
geography (German silver/Paris metal).
